Japanese electronics company, founded in 1946 in Shibuya by four brothers. The Casiotron digital watch appeared in 1974; the G-Shock, released in 1983 under engineer Kikuo Ibe, was designed to withstand a 10-metre drop and three atmospheres of pressure.
